100k

I have officially surpassed a 100k word count. I have been making some major revisions and editing, and I still have a lot to do. So, I think I will end up with even more than 100k, which is good if I am now going to call this an epic fantasy instead of a YA romantasy.

And I think it might be epic, indeed. Most epic fantasy novels are long (think about Brandon Sanderson’s behemoths ) because it’s a lot of worldbuilding and multiple points of view. And there’s a larger world beyond the protagonist’s story that is included.

I may need to work on adding in more of that now that I’m focused on revisions to make it more along the lines of epic fantasy. I have a lot of ideas for book 2 and book 3, so I think the key is just adding some of those into book 1 as well. I love the idea of various story threads and characters coming together at the end.

But I have a lot to do, so I just wanted to give myself a pat on the back for getting over that 100k word count. Especially because I complete cut my epilogue and re-wrote it.

What I need to do now is lots of detail-work, fleshing out, line editing, etc. as I continue finalizing plot changes. But that is so much work….

I am going to take a much-needed, fun break to play with AI and creating an inspiration board with images. (AI is evil & I don’t want to replace artists with it: this is just for fun)
